Uphill.
It came out to 6.2km round trip, so just under 4 miles. You gain about 100m in elevation from our agriturismo (Podere il Poggiolo) to Case Lori, which is a TINY little town up the hill from us on the way to Acone. It was further than I'd intended to run but after a week in Rome it felt good to stretch my legs.
I came back around 8:00, got a cafe latte, stretched and sat in the sun. I could get used to this.
